Overview
Spend your Aether Flux to buy items resembling old retired items, for use in tailoring.
This quest requires obtaining the Aether Flux from the Fishing Tournament or Firefly Catching events.
Walkthrough & Notes
- Obtain at least 2 Aether Flux.
- Head to Miselr at 86.3S, 48.9W on the Southern Landbridge.
- Route: Take a South Direlands Portal, run east.
- Purchase items from Miseler using Aether Flux. All items currently sold cost 2 Aether Flux.

Clues
Guard Alfric in Candeth Keep is wielding a Spear that looks like an Atlan spear, with the inscription, If only it could have been shivering. --Alfric. Give him a Major Shivering Stone for a clue about this quest.
Aludi al-Jaladh in Ayan Baqur is wielding a Spear that looks like an Atlan spear, with the inscription, If only it could have been smoldering --Aludi. Give him a Major Smoldering Stone for a clue about this quest.
Royal Guard Adrana in Yanshi is wielding a Spear that looks like an Atlan spear, with the inscription, If only it could have been sparking. --Adrana. Give her a Major Sparking Stone for a clue about this quest.
Guard Taziq in Qalaba'r is wielding a Spear that looks like an Atlan spear, with the inscription, If only it could have been Stinging --Taziq. Give him a Major Stinging Stone for a clue about this quest.
Event: A Dark Night
After much searching, it was discovered that the Inner Chamber Guardian in the Empyrean Workshop was wielding Guardian's Smoldering Atlan Spear, rather than its normal Guardian's Smoldering Atlan Sword.
Despite being a hostile, attacking creature, it was possible to give this creature the Aether Flux. This triggered a global event.
The sky became dark, and at least briefly no blips appeared on the radar. A series of global messages were broadcast. In total, it spanned about 45 minutes, and then the skies returned to normal. During this time, no other events were reported.
After the first interaction with the Inner Chamber Guardian, it respawned with it's normal Atlan Sword.
Vendor: Miselr
After the event occurred, a new vendor NPC was discovered: Miselr. This is an "Empyrean" wearing a a suit of armor that resembles a Gearknight, or possibly some Empyrean-Gearknight cyborg.
Miselr was discovered on the southern landbridge. He is surrounded by bursts of purple energy.

Dialog
- Town Crier and Gruff rumors
- Town Crier tells you, "An adventurer came through town the other day holding a number of odd looking weapons. I am certain one of them was an Atlan Spear."
- Town Crier tells you, "You wouldn't believe some of the things adventurers hand to me. The other day someone actually handed me an entire pack...YES a pack full of perfectly good items. But here's the interesting part, I found this..."
- The town crier reaches into their pocket and produces what appears to be a small energy field containing a purple mass sitting behind an even brighter nucleus. It feels warm to the touch and pulsates with residual energies somewhat familiar to you.
- Gruff the Listener tells you, "A small swirly purply stary thing? Yeah I've seen one. No you can't have mine. It's mine and I'll use it when the time comes."
- Give Major Shivering Stone to Guard Alfric
- You allow Guard Alfric to examine your Major Shivering Stone.
- Guard Alfric tells you, "I don't think this will work with my spear, it is not the real thing. It's nice though cause it looks nice, but still has a nasty bite."
- Guard Alfric tells you, "The guy i got this from talked about was a bit shaken by what he'd seen was a bit sparse on the details. Big steel giants with glowing eyes. Yes he was a bit drunk, traded me this spear for a weeks ale."
- Guard Alfric tells you, "Glowing eyes, tall as buildings, monsterous clanking steps, flying? They surrounded him and offered to trade his new found gem for this here spear. He was drunker then ulgrim after he was calling everyone his drinking buddy."
- Guard Alfric tells you, "All I know is I have this spear and I like it, I was never able to go out and adventure much before I enlisted, and now I can't."
- Guard Alfric tells you, "Maybe in the future I can get my hands on a Shivering one."
- Give Major Smoldering Stone to Aludi al-Jaladh
- You allow Aludi al-Jaladh to examine your Major Smoldering Stone.
- Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "Hah I wish it was that easy. I already thought of that!"
- Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "I was out hunting a big beast, it was massive looked like a something I've never seen before. It was huge at least as tall as four men, big claws and pointy teeth and was hunched and shuffled along like ...."
- Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "Oh right the spear, well we were tumbling around and I must admit, he was getting the better of me. Anyways he dropped a purple glowing object, I dived for it and ran off."
- Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "Not but a few days ago I was strolling around and and i found myself surrounded a group of odd looking bandits. They came from the sky and just thunked around me. I was in the fight for my life, then one held up this spear and another pointed at my new satchel."
- Aludi al-Jaladh tells you, "Seems they wanted to trade for my purple glowing object."

- Royal Guard Adrana tells you, "It doesn't work that way I was looking forward to showing Bleeargh since he's always bragging about his acid spear."
- Royal Guard Adrana tells you, "I was out on patrol, and came across a few men picking over a man. I shouted and they ran off, and as I aproached I saw a purple glow from under his coat."
- Royal Guard Adrana tells you, "He gave it to me for saving his life, he said he was going to loose it anyways and seemed like fair pay."
- Royal Guard Adrana tells you, "A few nights ago I was on patrol again, and I heard a noise behind me a loud grinding sound. Then sounded like someone dropped a crate of swords of a horse. There were five of them. I'd never seen anything like them before."
- Royal Guard Adrana tells you, "Tall very tall, and big, They just seemed to want the glowing object. I handed it to them then they left. Later I was continuing my patrol, and i heard a wizzing sound, then this fell from the sky and stuck in a tree."

- Guard Taziq tells you, "Well I traded for it, I went to a fishing tourament didn't win, but i got this glowly Aether Flux. Didn't know what to do with it."
- Guard Taziq tells you, "I left it at home and when I got back my son told me he had been visited by a large man with glowing red eyes."
- Guard Taziq tells you, "The red eyed man gave him a cookie. He'd asked my son for the Aether Flux, and my son gave it to him and the red eyed man left this behind."
- Guard Taziq tells you, "No idea what the Aether Flux is for, but this spear is good for a few things I do often enough."
- Giving Aether Flux to the Inner Chamber Guardian
- The portal closes and a fountain of pure energy erupts.
- The energy flow vanishes after a few seconds and the air feels thick, you feel the air pass over you as if it is skittering along your skin.
- You become imbalanced for a moment, your mana pulses slowly for a moment then returns to normal. The very air you breathe thins, you feel as though something has changed.
- The golem begins to desinigrate before you, the Aether Flux falls to the floor and bounces to your feet.

- Night arrives darker then normal, a chill on the wind.
- The southwestern sky lights up with a Purple glow.
- The glow to the south begins to fade.
- The sky flashes a bright purple for a moment then leaves darkness.
- Five small but distinct lights streak across the sky to the south.
- Another light streaks to the south.
- Just as the chill and darkness rolled in, darkness rolls out but the chill remains.

- Miselr tells you, "I have a limited supply right now. We need to finish securing the location."
