What factors affect sharing of XP?

Question Title: What factors affect sharing of XP?
Category: Fellowships
Question: Several times recently I've been hunting with a friend of mine, me playing pure support mage while my companion did the physical killing. Our characters were at the exact same level, and physically never more than a few "yards" apart, yet she received more XP than me overall. So my question is, what would cause that? Does the distance between fellows lack a "floor" for the input value, thus having an effect even at seemingly insignificant values? Or does the person who does the most damage receive somewhat more XP than the rest of a fellowship's members? Just seems like if it's the latter, that would sort of lessen one of the motivations for fellowing....

Thanks!

Answer: Sounds like this is due to skill use. Swinging your axe will generate axe experience that goes towards your axe skill (instead of to your unassigned experience pool). Casting spells will create spell experience that goes directly to your spellcasting skill. This skill-specific experience doesn't get split in fellowships; only the experience you get for killing the creature gets split.
