"Warrior" characters

Asked: 2001.02.08

Question Title: "Warrior" characters
Category: Character
Question: Why is it that a friend of mine both made custom characters yet he is a "Warrior" while I am an "Adventurer"? He took X-bow, and I have Axe, Sword and Melee. Doesn't that make me more of a Warrior?

Answer: When the character-generator is deciding which job description you get, it looks over all the templates, and finds which one has the "closest fit". The "closest fit" score is made up of three parts:

1/3rd - how close your attributes are to the template's attributes
1/3rd - how close your trained skills match the template's trained skills
1/3rd - how close your specialized skills match the template's specialized skills

Your character gets the job title of the template with the highest "closest fit" score, unless none of the templates are close enough, in which case you get "Adventurer".

So perhaps your stats are too different from the Warrior template's stats, or perhaps your specialized skills differ too much from the Warrior template.

(And yes, I know those character templates could use some tweaking ;)
