Overview

Quest to obtain one of Lady Maila's elemental stones (also known as Atlan Stones). The stones can be used to upgrade various weapons and armor:

Minor and major stones can be used to upgrade Atlan Weapons and Isparian Weapons.
Major stones can be used to upgrade Shadow Armor.
Both the stones can also be given to an Agent of the Arcanum for a Writ of Refuge (you need 1 major stone or 2 minor stones for the writ).
The minor stone is weaker than the major stone and therefore much easier to obtain.

Differs from Retail: The Incunabula vault does not contain the higher level creatures from The Risen Princess event.
Differs from Retail: The minor stone location does not contain the higher level creatures from The Risen Princess event.
Differs from Retail: The timer to pick up the Atlan stone is 1 hour, rather than 20 hours.
Not Available: Atlan stones cannot be turned in to Agents of the Arcanum for writs.
Custom: This is one of the quests for the Marketplace HearthSeeker 60-70 Quests.

Walkthrough & Notes

The Major Stinging Stone

The dungeon contains only Olthoi Swarm Soldiers. From the drop take the southern ramp down and hug the right wall all the way around until you get to a big open room.
Take the North-East hallway and follow the path across some bridges until you come to a second big room. Take the North hallway again to a room with an large acid pit. Go around the wall until you are at the ledge of the pit looking at the corner of another ledge.
If you jump is high enough you can leap across to the other side. Take the North-Eastern hall way and follow it all the way to the surface portal. Take the right and run across the big room to a hall with the Major Stinging Stone on the ground with some other gems and a book. Pick it up and recall.

The Minor Stinging Stone

To get to the cave quickly, start in Yanshi take the Swamp Temple Place Portal at 10.3S, 45.7E, from here it is a short run to the cave at 24.5S, 47.4E.
Once there you will see Apozim elementals, kill them then run down into the cave and pick up the Minor Stinging Stone, you will also see a Textbook and a Soiled Parchment which you can take if you wish.
Optionally, you can take the Textbook (Atlan's Treatise) and Soiled Parchment to Bretself the Translator in Cragstone for translation at 26.0N, 47.0E.

Handing in Major Stinging Stone to an Agent of the Arcanum

You give Agent of the Arcanum Major Stinging Stone.

Agent of the Arcanum tells you, "These crystals have many alchemical uses. Ciandra has continued to research what allows these stones to tap into this worlds well of powerful magics."

Agent of the Arcanum tells you, "Here, take this as a reward."

Agent of the Arcanum gives you Writ of Refuge.

Handing in Minor Stinging Stone to an Agent of the Arcanum

You give Agent of the Arcanum Minor Stinging Stone.

Agent of the Arcanum tells you, "These elemental stones have wonderful properties. The minor ones aren't quite as useful as the major stones, but I can reward you a writ if you bring me another minor stone."
