Overview

At the Encampment near Rynthid Infested Plains, The Bringer of Light requests that you complete 3 tasks related to the Rynthid and their artifacts. Collecting them requires that you visit each of the progressive dungeons on the platforms in the Rynthid Infested Plains. 2 of the artifacts require completing a kill task, the other requires picking up items that spawn randomly on the ground.

The rewards for this quest are split evenly between the 3 individual tasks with a bonus for completing all 3. Partial rewards are available for only completing 1 or 2 of the tasks.

Walkthrough

1. Optional: Speak to The Bringer of Light at the Encampment near Rynthid Infested Plains.
2. Head up the platforms on the Rynthid Infested Plains and enter the Path of Torment portal.
   • Warning: Hot drop!
   • Note: This is the same portal used for the Rynthid Genesis and Defeating the Curator of Torment quests.

Artifact 1: Tormented Shadow Kill Task

1. In the dungeon, find the room with a small red crystal NPC and talk to it to be given a kill task to kill 20 Tormented Shadows.
   • Route: Turn left after entering the dungeon and search the rooms on the left. The room the crystal is in has 2 paths leading into it.
   • Warning: Talking to the crystal a second time before completing the kill task will spawn nearby Rynthid enemies!
   • Note: The kill task can be completed within any dungeon on the Rynthid Infested Plains. Kills outside do not count toward the kill task.
2. After killing 20 Tormented Shadows, talk to the crystal again to be given a crystal artifact.

Artifact 2: Enraged Shadow Kill Task

1. Work your way through the dungeon and find the portal for the Platforms of Torment.
2. Back on the platforms, go straight down the ramp to the large platform, then turn left.
3. Take the ramp straight ahead, then turn left again up the ramp and into the Path of Rage portal.
4. Again you must locate a red crystal NPC in the dungeon. It is located in a dead end room. When you reach the first large room, take the paths on the right to reach it.
5. The crystal gives a kill task for 20 Enraged Shadows.
   • Warning: Talking to the crystal a second time before completing the kill task will spawn Rynthid, similar to the first crystal.
6. Complete the kill task, then talk to the crystal again to be given a 2nd crystal artifact.

Artifact 3: Wisp Collection

1. Continue through the dungeon until you reach the Platforms of Rage portal.
   • Warning: Very hot drop! Running recommended!
2. From the drop, run straight ahead to the ramp across the platform.
3. Take the ramp down, then turn right and follow another ramp down.
4. Do a half power jump to the platform nearby which has a floating crystal decoration in the middle of it.
5. Take the nearby portal for the Path of Sorrow.
6. This dungeon is linear and randomly spawns Wisp of Corrupted Emotion on the ground. You need to collect 10 of them.
   • Note: Typically there are between 2-5 wisps on the ground per run through the dungeon. So you will need to either visit multiple times or return to the dungeon drop and wait for more to spawn. The dungeon is log-able, so you can log out to wait for more to spawn if desired.

Rewards

1. At any time after completing an artifact, return to the Encampment near Rynthid Infested Plains.
2. Give The Bringer of Light each crystal artifact and the 10 wisps for 25,000,000 experience, 5,000 luminance, and 1 Durable Legendary Key each.
3. Turning in all 3 artifacts gives an additional 3,000 luminance and the title "Purifier".

Opening Dialog

The The Bringer of Light looks you up and down dismissively, and then nods to himself.

The Bringer of Light tells you, "You'll do. I'm in need of additional bodies in my hunt of the corruption the Rynthid are spreading into this 'Dereth' place."

The Bringer of Light tells you, "I have been sent by the Council to contain or eliminate the corruption spread by the Rynthid's presence in this... physical world of yours."

The Bringer of Light tells you, "I care not for the Rynthid's activities on or above the surface. They are not my appointed task. Underground, however, the Rynthid hide their more questionable works."

The Bringer of Light tells you, "I have three tasks your frame looks capable of accomplishing."

The Bringer of Light tells you, "The first two tasks are similar. In both the Path of Torment and the Path of Rage, there are corrupted crystals. These crystals are gathering and harnessing the emotional energies harvested from entities you call Shadows, which have been corrupted by the Rynthid for this purpose."

The Bringer of Light tells you, "Find them, do what you must to weaken them, and bring me a shard of each of them to study. For this, I will reward you."

The Bringer of Light tells you, "The third task is simpler. In the Path of Sorrows, many have spotted Wisps of Corrupted Emotion.

Bring me 10 of them, so they can be used to weaken the Rynthid's hold on your world."

The Bringer of Light tells you, "Complete all three of these tasks, and I may have something extra for you."
