Overview
Help David the snowman investigate the strange crystals beginning to grow around Frost Haven.
Walkthrough & Notes
- Talk to David the snowman in Frost Haven (68.6S, 25.4E) to begin this quest.
- The quickest route is to take your manions Citadels Portal Device, then run to 68.6S, 25.4E.
- Head north to the Crystal Core dungeon (level 50+) located at 66.6S, 25.9E.
- Upon entering, use the red Crystal to open the Wall of Ice. Doing so will summon either 1 or 2 level 80 Scorching Flame fire elementals.
- Note: you will also encounter Char Golems level 80 which are also weak to cold damage as well as Prism Shard (level 60 cyrstals).
- Continue through the dungeon, using red Crystals to open more Walls of Ice.
- Eventually you will come to a room with Scold (NPC). He will summon a Blazing Crystal (level 100) as well as 2 or 3 Prism Shards then disappear.
- Defeat the Blazing Crystal and loot a Blazing Shard (drops 9 per kill).
- Return to David the snowman for your rewards.

- Opening Dialog
- David tells you, "Did you notice the odd crystals forming around the edge of the village? They seem to grow larger each day."
- David tells you, "My frozen gut tells me that fiend Scold is behind this. We need to find out the meaning of this before it is too late."
- David tells you, "Search the area to the north of the village where the largest crystal formations have appeared. Anything you could do to help our frosty little abode would be greatly appreciated."
- David tells you, "Return to me with any news and I will inform the Mayor of the situation."
- Scold
- Scold tells you, "Well, well, well. Those useless snowpiles sent you to stop me? Laughable!"
- Scold tells you, "Once the crystals are fully tuned and charged I will focus the energy directly at this mountain burying those walking ice-cubes and their pathetic village forever!"
- A low pitch hum reverberates through the room.
- Scold tells you, "Incinerate them my glorious crystals!"
- Rewards Dialog
- You allow David to examine your Blazing Shard.
- You hand over 1 of your Blazing Shards.
- You hand the Blazing Shard to David. He abruptly drops the shard into the snow and it instantly turns to ice and shatters.
- David tells you, "You found this near the crystals? It all makes sense now!"
- David tells you, "Reflecting the light and heat through the crystals at the mountain to the north would surely cause an avalanche and bury the village in snow."
- David tells you, "Why melt the town when you can cover it in a mountain of snow and ice? The thought of being buried alive like that is chilling!"
- David tells you, "Your bravery will never be forgotten. Please take this as our way of saying thanks."
- You've earned 10,599,999 experience.
- David gives you 3 Mugs of Warm Cider.

- As you touch the crystal a blast of heat explodes outwards, melting the north wall.
