Overview
Lockpicking is required to get one item for this quest, in the Mines of Despair. You must also have a key from the Focusing Stone quest to get into the Mines of Despair.
Walkthrough & Notes
Part 1: Empyrean Stones
- Go to the Mines of Despair at 75.4S, 57.2E to get the Empyrean Sun Stone.
- Go to the Arwic Mines at 33.8N, 56.8E to get the Stone of Alb'arel.
- Go to the Colier Mines (direct portal in level 15+ section of Facility Hub) to get the Stone of Rez'arel.
- Combine Empyrean Sun Stone with Stone of Alb'arel to create Empyrean Sun and Moon Stone.
- Combine Empyrean Sun and Moon Stone with Stone of Rez'arel to create an Empyrean Golem Stone.
Part 2: Inactive Blank Golem
- Go to the Halls of Metos near Tufa at 4.4S 0.6W (Restricted 15+).
- Jump over the east acid pit, and go to near the end of the dungeon.
- Hand the Empyrean Golem Stone to the Golem Constructor to get an Inactive Blank Golem and Finding Imprinting Motes.
- Buy three Sigils from the Sigil Keeper. They cost 50,000 pyreals each.
Part 3: Imprinting Motes
You must complete each level of imprinting mote in order. For example, you can only add a Superb Imprinting Mote to a golem that is already stamped with a Quality Imprinting Mote.
Imprinting Mote (Level 25+)
- Go to the Golem Sanctum. This portal spawns randomly on the landscape, or is accessible from The Floating City, another randomly spawning landscape portal.
- Pick up an Imprinting Mote from the ground inside the Golem Sanctum.
- Use a Sigil on the Imprinting Mote to create an Imprinted Mote of the given skill.
- Use the Imprinted Mote on the Inactive Blank Golem to create a Journeyman Golem for the given skill.
Quality Imprinting Mote (Level 80+)
- Do the Gift Box Quest, and get a Quality Imprinting Mote in the room with the chests.
- Use a Sigil on the Quality Imprinting Mote to create a Quality Imprinted Mote of the given skill.
- Use the Quality Imprinted Mote on the Inactive Golem to create a Master Golem for the given skill.
Superb Imprinting Mote (Level 100+)
- Go to the Ancient Masonry dungeon on Aerlinthe Island, and get a Superb Imprinting Mote near the end of that dungeon.
- Use a Sigil on the Superb Imprinting Mote to create a Superb Imprinted Mote of the given skill.
- Superb Imprinted Mote (Alchemy)
- Superb Imprinted Mote (Cooking)
- Superb Imprinted Mote (Fletching)
- Superb Imprinted Mote (Lockpicking)
- Note: 604 skill gives a 50% chance of success, so it's a good idea to use a rare. (751 skill gives a 99% chance).
- Use the Superb Imprinted Mote on the Inactive Golem to create an Artisan Golem for the given skill.

- Golem Constructor tells you, "Hello friend. I am a third generation Golem Constructor. My sole purpose is to create useful golems for those who require them. Bring me the three Empyrean Stones combined as one and I will build you a Blank Golem. See the Sigil Keeper for a list of locations where the Empyrean used to mine and imbue these stones.
- Sigil Keeper
- Sigil Keeper tells you, "Greetings, I sell Sigils used to imprint motes that can be given to the Golem Constructor to instill your Golem with knowledge."
- Sigil Keeper tells you, "Good luck imprinting!."
- Handing in Empyrean Golem Stone to Golem Constructor
- You give Golem Constructor Empyrean Golem Stone.
- The Golem Constructor takes the Empyrean Golem Stone and swallows it.
- Grinding and clanking noises come from inside him and an engraved stone block appears in his hands. He gives you the block.
- Golem Constructor gives you Inactive Blank Golem.
- Golem Constructor gives you Finding Imprinting Motes.
- Golem Constructor tells you, "You may now imprint your crafting skill on your Blank Golem. To do this you will need an Imprinting Mote and a Craft Sigil. The Sigil Keeper sells Craft Sigils, but finding an Imprinting Mote may be difficult. Here, I made this list of possible locations where you may still be able to find Imprinting Motes left by the Empyreans.
