Overview
When first introduced, the Paradox-touched Olthoi Ward Guardian was only a nymph. The guardian and the minions in its dungeon have since been upgraded, and it is no longer possible for a character of the intended level range for this quest to kill the guardian. You will instead have to wait until the guardian has been killed in preparation for the Prodigal Olthoi quest.
Walkthrough & Notes
- Adrien Swiftblade will inform you on the status of the ward guardian.
- If it is still alive, kill the Paradox-touched Olthoi Ward Guardian, or alternatively wait for it to be killed, thus dropping the ward on the Deeper Catacombs portal found inside the Black Death Catacombs.
- Go to the Black Death Catacombs and enter the Deeper Catacombs.
- Work your way down to the bottom where you will find a room full of Paradox-touched Olthoi Eggs. Grab an egg.
- Return to Adrien Swiftblade for your reward.

- Adrien Swiftblade tells you, "The Ward Guardian is presently dead, so you should be able to enter the Deeper Catacombs of the Paradox-touched Olthoi. Once in there, look for anything that may be of use to use in our research and bring it back to me."
- Adrien Swiftblade tells you, "If the Portal is closed again when you get there, you should find the Ward Guardian in his cave and kill him."
- Adrien Swiftblade tells you, "Be warned, however, the Ward Guardian has grown dramatically in strength since it first appeared. It is now as strong or stronger than those twisted bugs that wander the inner areas of the infestation, and should not be taken lightly."
- Adrien Swiftblade tells you, "I would hurry though, every time the Ward Guardian dies, it's either reborn, recreated, or whatever roughly six hours after its death, and the Wards return with it."
