Quest Overview
- Warning: Make sure to have a free backpack slot when handing in the Etsalot Eater Jaw to Bergrie, if you do not you will not receive the backpack reward.
Walkthrough & Notes
- Enter the Experimentation Ward on the Isle of Ruin at 93.5N, 51.9W. The portal is not tieable, but is recallable.
- Route: Run from Egg Orchard if a portal is available. Otherwise, run from Eastwatch.
- There will be a series of lever-opened doors you will proceed through. If in a group, only one person is needed to pull levers while the rest can advance.
- The first lever is south of drop, on the west side of a southern indentation in the ramp room.
- The second lever is east of drop, in the center of the room at the end.
- The third lever is south of drop, up the ramp, and in the center of the room at the end of the west path.
- The fourth lever is west of drop, in the center of the room at the end.
- The fifth lever is south of drop, directly east of the first lever.
- The group and lever-puller can both proceed up the ramp and follow the east path together.
- The sixth lever is in the center of a room on the way, following a ramp down. Proceed down another ramp into a largish room.
- The main group can clear the room and proceed to a door in the northwest of the room. The lever-puller can go through the east of the room and up a couple ramps. The seventh lever can be found on the wall after the south turn following the long ramp.
- The eighth and final lever is in the center of the largish room, which opens the northwest door.
- The full group can proceed to a pit. It's common to jump down and group up in a hook off the hallway at the northwest corner of the floor.
- Etsalot has extremely high magic defense (effectively immune) and cannot be debuffed. When killed, he drops 17 Etsalot Eye Lids (20 hour timer), 16 Raw Augmentation Crystals (13 day timer), and 1 Etsalot Eater Jaw (27 day timer).
Enemies can roughly be split into two sections. The first section goes from drop to the sixth door and consists of eaters, penguins, and slanted knights. The second section goes from the sixth door to the end and adds thrungus, ruschks, and fiuns. Slanted knights, ruschks, and Etsalot do not appear on radar and cannot be selected with the "select creature" keyboard bindings. Each enemy type is vulnerable to two attack types and effectively invulnerable (due to defense skill) to the third, as shown in the table below. Missile defense debuffs are required for archers to reliably hit penguins.

- Bregrie Opening Dialog
- Bregrie tells you, "I specialize in creating things from some pretty weird items. Right now I'm looking for a fabled item from Etsalot. Supposedly this creature has a jaw that never stops moving. I think I can create a backpack from it, or maybe a cool dagger. It probably doesn't matter no one has seen it, only rumors of it. I'm also interested in other items from Etsalot so if you find any give them to me and I will reward you."
- Venito Opening Dialog
- Venito tells you, "There is a place .... hidden away and abandoned with the most vicious creatures around. Rumors about they are experiments gone wrong and taken over. Few have braved this place and even fewer survived."
