Question Title: Weather - What about thunderstorms?
Category: Landscape
Question: The rain in AC is superb, as are the cloudscapes and the weather in general. One thing I think would add a LOT of atmosphere to the game with minimal effort would be the occasional thunderstorm, which would be the rain as it is now but with the addition of some lovely rich crashing and grumbling thunder samples, perhaps combined with a little flashing of the sky.

I doubt lightening is technically worth the effort, and perhaps even flashing the sky would be tricky, but even if we only had the thunder sfx I for one would be hanging around simply waiting for the next storm to materialise!

Congratulations to all at Turbine for the achievement that is AC. It is one of the most amazing pieces of software I've ever seen, and totally compelling to play. Long may it last.

Answer: There should be flashes and thunder in the current rain - at least I put them there when I created the day files.

Lightning I couldn't do, unfortunately. It's a tricky issue with the way we draw the sky - AC uses some neat tricks to help it create that wide open sky feeling, and some of those tricks negate other tricks..
