This can be skipped entirely, and the players can advance to the final dungeon, if there is a skilled Lockpick in the group (700 resistance is the final door), if you have 2+ fellowship members and you can PKL through the door, or you can tie to the portal from outside of the fortress. This will save you atleast an hour.
